Privacy policy
Claude YouTube Publisher · Last updated 24 October 2026 (phone app)
Claude YouTube Publisher ("the app") is a private tool that runs on its owner's own computer and uploads the owner's own videos to the owner's own YouTube channels. This policy explains what data the app uses and how it is handled.
Who uses the app
The app is used only by its owner, for YouTube channels the owner controls. It is not offered to the public and has no other users.
Data the app accesses
When the owner links a YouTube channel, the app uses Google sign-in (OAuth) and requests three permissions:
- youtube.upload, to upload videos the owner has approved;
- youtube.readonly, to read the linked channel's name, ID and thumbnail, and to confirm that an uploaded video arrived with the right title and privacy setting;
- yt-analytics.readonly, to read the linked channel's own analytics (views, watch time, subscribers) and show them to the owner.
The app does not read the owner's email, contacts, files, viewing history or any other Google data.
How data is stored
- Google sign-in tokens are stored only on the owner's PC, encrypted with Windows Data Protection (DPAPI), in a folder that only a dedicated Windows account can read.
- Channel names and IDs, upload records (video ID, link, status), channel statistics and an audit log are stored in a local database on the same PC.
- So the owner can check and approve work from a phone while the PC is off, a private copy of project information (titles, scripts, review status, small video previews and channel statistics) is kept in the owner's own Cloudflare account, protected by the owner's passkey (Face ID). Google sign-in tokens and keys are never copied there.
How data is used and shared
- Data is used only to upload the owner's approved videos, to confirm those uploads, and to show the owner their own channel statistics.
- Data is sent only to Google/YouTube, through the YouTube Data API, to perform those uploads.
- No data is sold, rented, shared with third parties, used for advertising, or used to train AI models.
YouTube API Services
The app uses YouTube API Services. By using it you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Removing access and deleting data
- Disconnecting a channel inside the app revokes its Google token and deletes it from the PC.
- Access can also be removed at any time from Google's security settings: security.google.com/settings/security/permissions.
- Uninstalling the app deletes its stored data from the PC. Stored data is never kept longer than needed to run the app.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
